Old Town Hall Tower

Almost 70 metres high massive prismatic tower, dating from the 14th century, is the dominant feature of the Old Town Hall and indeed the entire square. The tower´s viewing gallery offers beautiful views of the city; it is possible to see Týn Cathedral or Saint Nicolas´Church, while you can also admire Prague Castle in the distance or be astonished by the multitude of towers, spires and domes arrayed in Prague´s diverse architecture. The Town Hall tower is the only medieval tower in Prague to be completely wheelchair accessible.

Practical information

The entrance fee includes also the entry to the Old Town Hall's chapel, historical halls and medieval underground.

Access to the town hall tower is barrier-free for wheelchair users – an elevator leads from the ground floor to the 3rd floor and is followed by a separate elevator in the town hall tower (10 people capacity). There is a travellator between the two elevators. For people on an electric wheelchair, which this platform is not suited for, the solution is to rent a mechanical wheelchair on site.

The main entrance to the building is not barrier-free (2 steps). There is a side entrance with one stone step, which staff can mitigate with a detachable wooden ramp. The entrance has a bell to attract attention. On the 3rd floor there is a barrier-free toilet under Eurokey access (the key is available for rent at the tower’s 3rd floor ticket office).

Admission for disabled card holders is CZK 150; for those with a ZTP/P card, admission is free of charge, including 1 escort.
